The Neighbourhood

With two tube lines running through Bromley-by-Bow station, the DLR at Devons Road and numerous bus stops nearby, travel options from The Waterside are varied.

Hop on your bike to travel along the Cycle Superhighway or use the towpath where you can make it all the way along the water’s edge to Canary Wharf.

Whether travelling for work or weekend plans, East London’s excellent connectivity keeps everything close.

East London’s food and drink scene is one of its biggest draws, and The Waterside sits right at its heart. Along the Hackney Wick canal, you’ll find Barge East – an award‑winning restaurant aboard a century‑old Dutch barge. Stroll along the water’s edge to CRATE Brewery’s craft beer and sourdough pizza in a lively warehouse setting.

At Here East’s Canalside, options range from The Breakfast Club and Randy’s Wings to Gotto’s handmade pasta. In Bow and Mile End, favourites like The Widow’s Son delivers classic East London pub charm, whilst Burnt Umber Brasserie Hackney Wick completes the scene with fresh, seasonal dishes perfect for brunch enthusiasts.

Just a short journey away, Stratford’s Westfield City remains a go‑to for global fashion brands, rooftop dining, games and entertainment – plus major events at the London Stadium.

For something more independent and community‑driven, Hackney Bridge offers street‑food traders, thrift stores, makers’ markets, DJs, open‑air cinema nights and one-off events, creating a vibrant destination for browsing, eating and socialising.

Life at The Waterside flows naturally into East London’s generous green spaces. Three Mills Green is under 5-minutes from home, perfect for morning runs, picnics or relaxed afternoons. Continue through Bow and you reach Mile End Park, a peaceful canal-side escape.

Beyond this lies the 200-acre Victoria Park – one of London’s most beloved green spaces, home to lakes, playgrounds, sports facilities and major events like All Points East.

Follow the waterways to Limehouse Cut, London’s oldest canal, where kayaks drift past floating walkways and weekend adventure becomes part of your routine. Here, living by the water isn’t just a view – it’s a lifestyle, woven into your daily routes, leisure, and sense of wellbeing.
